IP개요 IMDs (implantable medical devices) have been developing in ways to be lighter and lower-power systems. In view of such developments, the battery recharging capability to ensure the stable operation of the system is essential. The WPT (wireless power transfer) technology was proposed as a solution of recharging the battery without complex metallic contacts. However, due to limitations such as threshold voltage of power switches and minimal input power of the multi-stage structure (rectifier + regulator/DC-DC converter) of conventional voltage-mode WPT, there are drawbacks of an input power range above a certain threshold level and limitations due to strict regulations on the human body. These issues make the design of the IMD battery charger much harder and prevent IMDs from being a more viable option for people-in-need. Resonant current-mode WPT works, which have removed the power conversion circuits, were suggested to overcome the aforementioned issues, but these works still suffer from variable voltages across the switches that can cause the breakdown and efficiency degradation. This proposal suggests a resonant current-mode wireless receiver that maintains the advantages of resonant current-mode WPT and can harvest larger input power by designing the system with high-voltage transistors, thanks to the BCDMOS process.
