IP개요 This research develops the multi-channel energy harvesting interface and power management IC chip for piezoelectric and photovoltaic harvesting devices. The research is the circuit design study on the active rectifier power conversion topology to maximize AC energy extraction, generated from piezoelectric harvester. The optimization of power conversion efficiency for photovoltaic energy harvester is also performed by designing an innovative DC-DC power conversion circuit topology with MPPT control. To exploit heterogeneous (AC/DC) multiple energy harvesters, the simultaneous energy combining and battery charger circuits are also investigated. Through simulations, the piezoelectric harvesting interface circuit achieves a power extraction FoM of 1,645% and conversion efficiency of 86.9%. For PV harvesting, we have achieved a conversion efficiency of peak 71% in conjunction with the maximum power point tracking (MPPT).
