IP개요 A +37 dBm out-of-band (OOB) output-referred thirdorder intercept point (OIP3) receiver front-end incorporating a highly linear wideband LNA and a low noise transimpedance amplifier (TIA) with 300 MHz baseband bandwidth and third-order filtering characteristics is designed using a 65-nm CMOS technology. The proposed inductor-less wideband LNA combines self-cascode transistors and composite transistors to increase an effective transconductance (gm) without consuming additional current, and, as a result, improves noise figure (NF) and linearity. In
contrast to conventional noise cancelling LNAs, the proposed technique improves the NF by reusing current without a path for noise cancellation. In order to lower the input impedance of the TIA following the passive mixer and attenuate the voltage swing caused by the strong blocker at the mixer output, the Rauch biquad TIA employing a blocker selective capacitor circuit is designed to have
baseband width of 300 MHz and third-order filtering characteristics. The simulated conversion gain and double sideband noise figure (NFDSB) of whole receiver front-end range from 40 dB to 35.5 dB and from 1.6 dB to 2.6 dB at RF frequencies of 1 GHz and 4 GHz, respectively. The in-band (IB) OIP3 ranges from +27 to +29.2 dBm across the operating frequency range, demonstrating excellent linearity performance. As for the OOB OIP3, it is improved by more than 6 dB compared to the IB OIP3, primarily due to the high-order filtering effect of the TIA. The highest OOB OIP3 obtained within the operating frequency range exceeds +36 dBm. The total power consumption is approximately 28.8 mW from a 1.2 V supply voltage
