This paper presents a low-noise, high-IIP2 blockertolerant RX front-end for 5G NR, utilizing dual RF and BB Npath filters. The proposed design significantly improves OB IIP2 and IIP3 through dual RF and BB N-path filtering. An RF Npath BPF and a BB N-path LPF are realized using N-path notch feedback and feedforward BB N-path HPF configurations, respectively. The double-balanced mixer in the main signal path is reused to implement both filters, reducing switch count and easing LO chain burden. The RX front-end includes a transformer-based noise-canceling balun-LNA, doublebalanced down-conversion passive mixers driven by 25% dutycycle LO signals, isolation resistors, transimpedance amplifiers, RF N-path notch feedback, and feedforward BB N-path HPF. |
