| IP개요 | We presents a dual-core dual-mode continuous class-F voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with PLL implementation for low-Earth-orbit (LEO) SATCOM applications, where low-phase-noise and wideband local-oscillator generation are essential for high-data-rate and reliable uplink/downlink operation. The proposed VCO employs a dual-core synchronized architecture together with a continuous class-F resonator tank engineered to exhibit impedance peaks at both the fundamental and third-harmonic frequencies in the common-mode and differential-mode tank responses. By sustaining class-F operation over both operating modes, the oscillator realizes waveform shaping that suppresses flicker-noise upconversion and improves phase-noise performance and figure-of-merit (FoM). The proposed VCO operates in two reconfigurable modes. In Mode 1, it covers 8.5 – 10.9 GHz, corresponding to a 24.7% tuning range (TR), while achieving a FoM of 188.4 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset. In Mode 2, it covers 11.9 – 15.5 GHz, corresponding to a 26.3% TR, with a FoM of 18.4 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset. |
