| IP개요 | This work presents a compact sub-terahertz (sub- THz) power amplifier (PA) centered at 120 GHz based on an area- efficient differential 8-way power-combining architecture. The proposed power amplifier employs slotline-based matching and combining networks together with a transformer-based interstage matching network to achieve compact implementation and efficient multi-way power combining. To further enhance area efficiency, a doubly coupled slotline-based combiner is introduced, allowing two PA cores to be integrated within a single combining structure. Simulation results show a peak small-signal gain of 16.6 dB at 113 GHz and a 3-dB bandwidth of 99.6–128 GHz. Over this frequency range, the simulated Psat is 16.0–17.6 dBm and the peak PAE is 6– 9%. The proposed architecture demonstrates the potential of compact slotline-based multi-way power combining for sub-THz PA applications such as imaging, radar, and high-resolution sensing systems. |
