This Tape-out aims for the design of a high-speed wireline transmitter (TX) data path, with discrete multi-tone (DMT) modulation to communicate over electrical links. The proposed TX includes 1) a bit-loading controller supporting from 4-level quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM-4) to QAM-256, 2) a complex-multiplier array for power-loading 3) a partially-serial inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) processor with more than 128 taps with a relatively small silicon area, 4) additional circuitries for other necessary functionalities such as cyclic-prefix insertion, synchronization sequence. |
