The growth of semiconductor industry has made the high-performance hardware is required. At the same time, the demand for an accelerator that performs only a specific operation or function is increasing. However, it is difficult to use an accelerator independently of a general-purpose processor. Therefore, a processing core composed of instruction set with open-source licenses that developers can freely use is necessary. In this paper, we propose a RISC-V processor that supports AMBA AXI protocol. The proposed design consists of an RISC-V core that is suitable for embedded systems and AXI interface for efficient and high-speed transaction between the core and peripherals. We design the proposed processor with Verilog HDL and verify by simulation and implementing the design on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). |
