A mixed-signal ASIC chip using MagnaChip/SK hynix CMOS 0.18 μm process for generating biphasic current pulses was proposed. The chip was designed to be embedded in a hermetic polymer package which can be fully implanted into a body. The analog part consists of two parts: the RF-receiving block extracting power and data, and a current stimulator generating the burst of pulses. The digital part including the decoder and the digital controllerwas designed to achieve a minimum power consumption. The detailed explanations, circuit design flow, simulation results, and test methods of the chip are described in this proposal. |
